Since 2000 I have been a senior lecturer at the University of Glamorgan,my areas of interest include Pain, Behavioural Sciences, Surgical Nursing, E-learning, Adult Nursing, Interpersonal Skills, and Action Learning
From 2007-2010 I was a doctoral scholar with the European Academy of Nursing Science.
My PhD study was entitled Using a Learning Community to Manage Pain; A participatory Action Research Study.
I'm interested in Pain Management
I trained as a nurse at Neath General Hospital, in South Wales between 1984 and 1987. After working in Accident and Emergency and Trauma and Orthopaedics from 1987 to 1993 and then as a Quality Facilitator from 1993 - 1994 I worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management from 1994-2000. During this time I established two acute pain services and developed nurse-led chronic pain clinics in acupuncture, TNS and relaxation therapy.
I obtained a Bachelor in Nursing from Swansea Institute of Higher Education in 1993.
A Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 1998
A Master of Science in Pain Management from University of Wales College of Medicine in 1999
I completed my PhD in 2014 at the University of South Wales., Uk
