About Astrid Stephan

I am a doctoral student in nursing science at Witten/Herdecke University, Germany.

Background

I was trained as a nurse (1998 - 2001, psychiatry). I was working in long-term care for the eldery and on an acute surgical ward. In 2003, I stared studying Nursing Science (completed BScN in 2007, MScN in 2009).

I was engaged with "evidence based patient information" and information needs. During the last three and a half years, I was working within the EU 7th framework research project "RightTimePlaceCare" (RTPC) on transitions in long-term care of people with dementia and their informal caregivers (home care - institutional care). My doctoral thesis will deal with several aspects in connection with the RTPC project.
